  • 3:30 p.m. Deputy responded to report of donkey loose on rural Two Harbors property.
  • 3:56 p.m. Deputy, Silver Bay Police Department responded to report of vehicle hitting sign on Minnesota Highway 61 at Lax Lake Road.
  • 6:41 p.m. Deputy served papers at Knife River residence.
  • 7:20 p.m. Deputy made traffic stop on Old North Shore Road at Larsmont Way. Warned for speed.
  • 7:21 p.m. Deputy took report of Facebook scam from rural Two Harbors residents.
  • 8:29 p.m. Deputy made traffic stop on Minnesota Highway 61 at Scenic Drive. Warned for driving without headlights.
  • 10:22 p.m. Deputy, Two Harbors Police Department responded to domestic at Knife River residence. Parties separated.
  • 10:27 p.m. Deputy, Silver Bay Police Department make traffic stop on Minnesota Highway 61 at Ruth Street. Cited for speed 48/35 and driving after suspension.

    • 5:05 a.m. Deputy, Two Harbors Police Department responded to report of unwanted party at Superior Shores Lakehome.
    • 9:19 a.m. Deputy responded to report of suspicious activity at rural Two Harbors residence.
    • 11:08 a.m. Deputy served papers at Two Harbors residence.
    • 11:24 a.m. Deputy served papers at Silver Bay residence.
    • 12:14 p.m. Deputy responded to report of trespassing at rural Two Harbors property. Lake County Assessor left business card advising he was there.
    • 1:26 p.m. Deputy assisted Ely Police Department with warrant arrest.
    • 2:18 p.m. Deputy responded to report of shots heard near Silver Bay area resident. Neighbor legally shooting squirrels.
    • 2:50 p.m. Deputy made traffic stop on 13 Corners Road at Kawishiwi Trail. Warned for speed.
    • 3:49 p.m. Deputy served papers at Silver Bay residence.
    • 4:41 p.m. Deputy took report of civil matter from rural Two Harbors resident.
    • 8:29 p.m. Deputy served papers at Two Harbors residence.

    • 9:27 p.m. Deputy, Minnesota State Patrol made traffic stop on Minnesota Highway 61 at Scenic Drive. Warned for driving while texting.

    Wednesday, Sept. 12

    • 4:20 a.m. Deputy responded to report of horse loose at County Road 3 residence. Owner retrieved the horse.
    • 8:24 a.m. Deputy responded to report of unwanted party at Beaver Bay residence. Party left residence.
    • 4:23 p.m. Deputy responded to report of unknown 911 call at rural Two Harbors residence. All clear.
    • 5:21 p.m. Deputy, Two Harbors Police Department responded to tenant issue at Superior Shores Lakehomes. One brought to Lake County Jail for DWI.
    • 6:18 p.m. Deputy made traffic stop on Minnesota Highway 61 at Gooseberry Falls State Park. Warned for speed and distracted driving.
    • 6:44 p.m. Deputy made traffic stop on Minnesota Highway 61 near West Castle Danger Road. Warned for speed.
    • 6:58 p.m. Deputy made traffic stop on Minnesota Highway 61 at Gate 5 Road. Warned for speed.
    • 7:11 p.m. Deputy made traffic stop on Minnesota Highway 61 near Silver Cliff Tunnel. Warned for speed.
    • 7:32 p.m. Deputy made traffic stop on County Road 2 at Cedar Road. Warned for crossing fog line.
    • 7:46 p.m. Deputy out with vehicle on side of road on Minnesota Highway 61 at Sannes Road. Driver stopped to check his phone.
    • 8:02 p.m. Deputy, Minnesota State Patrol, Minnesota Department of Natural Resources out with suspicious vehicle at Knife River Marina. One brought to Lake County Jail for drug possession.

    Thursday, Sept. 13

    Inmate Population: 14

    • 12:15 a.m. Deputy responded to report of suspicious vehicle at rural Two Harbors residence. Gone on arrival.
    • 6:30 a.m. Deputies pulled buoys from Ely area lakes.
    • 11:10 a.m. Deputy made traffic stop on Minnesota Highway 61 at Loggers Trail. Warned for driving conduct.
    • 2:03 p.m. Deputy responded to Lake County Jail for inmate issue.
    • 8:06 p.m. Deputy, Silver Bay Police Department responded to dog issue at Beaver Bay residence. All clear.
    • 10:10 p.m. Deputy assisted Silver Bay Police Department with loud, intoxicated parties at Mariner Motel. Told to quiet down and take it inside.
    • 10:43 p.m. Deputy out with vehicle on County Road 2 at Louie’s Road. Broken down and not a hazard.
    • 11:50 p.m. Deputy out with parties at Finland business. Parties given permission to go through scrap pile.

    Friday, Sept. 14

    Inmate Population: 16

    • 12:08 a.m. Deputy out with party at Silver Bay Golf Course. Party given permission to pick up golf balls at wood line.
    • 4:26 a.m. Deputy made traffic stop on Larsmont Road at Minnesota Highway 61. Warned for speed.
    • 8:12 a.m. Deputy, Sheriff assisted Minnesota State Patrol with traffic stop on Minnesota Highway 61 near Sannes Road. Border Patrol took custody of two.
    • 8:59 a.m. Deputy responded to report of animal disturbance at Ely area residence.
    • 11:52 a.m. Deputy took report of possible stolen property received at Two Harbors business.
    • 2:29 p.m. Deputy met party at impound lot to retrieve vehicle.
    • 2:32 p.m. Deputy took report of harassment issues from Finland resident.
    • 2:55 p.m. Deputy made traffic stop on Minnesota Highway 61 at Park Road. Warned for illegal pass.
    • 3:51 p.m. Deputy made traffic stop on County Road 2 near Langley River. Warned for speed.
    • 7:02 p.m. Deputy responded to report of tree down on County Road 2 near Townline Road.
    • 9:47 p.m. Deputy assisted Silver Bay Police Department with traffic stop on Banks Blvd.

    Saturday, Sept. 15

    Inmate Population: 15

    • 6:49 a.m. Sheriff, Sergeant and deputies at start of North Shore Inline Marathon.
    • 7:09 a.m. Deputy responded to security alarm at Two Harbors business. All secure.
    • 9:30 a.m. Sheriff, deputy and Lake County Rescue Squad responded to medical at North Shore Inline Marathon. One transported to St. Luke’s Hospital by ambulance.
    • 10:34 a.m. Deputy and Lake County Rescue Squad respond to medical on James Road.
    • 12:04 p.m. Deputy responded to report of possible abandoned vehicle in Two Harbors. Owner located, vehicle moved.
    • 1:21 p.m. Deputy attempted to locate vehicle tailgating and honking at another vehicle. Unable to locate.
    • 5:40 p.m. Deputy made traffic stop on Seventh Street near 16th Avenue. Warned for seat belt and view obstruction.
    • 6:58 p.m. Deputy responded to report of threats made at campground in Ely.
    • 9:18 p.m. Deputy, along with Silver Bay Police Department, responded to report of suspicious activity in Silver Bay. Unable to locate.

    Sunday, Sept. 16

    Inmate Population: 15

    • 6:05 a.m. Deputy attempted to locate wrong way driver on Minnesota Highway 61. Unable to locate.
    • 9:56 a.m. Deputy served papers at Silver Bay residence.
    • 10:49 a.m. Lake County Rescue Squad responded to report of a fire at Two Harbors business.
    • 3:35 p.m. Deputy responded to report of sound of shots at Two Harbors gravel pit. Unable to locate.
    • 3:41 p.m. Deputy and Lake County Rescue Squad responded to medical on hiking trail near resort on Minnesota Highway 61. One transported by ambulance to St. Luke's Hospital.
    • 6:33 p.m. Deputy assisted other agency with domestic.
    • 7:23 p.m. Deputy took report of overdue campers in the Boundary Waters Canoe Area Wilderness. Party located, all is OK.
