Robert W. Evans
Robert W. Evans
Robert William Evans, 64, of Brooklyn Park, MN, died unexpectedly October 8, 2018 at Hennepin County Medical Center, Minneapolis, MN after a short illness.
He was born December 18, 1953 to William and Arlene (Peterson) Evans in Two Harbors, MN. He graduated from Two Harbors High School in 1972. Robert was a computer software developer and consultant, who worked for such companies as Transport America, Children's Regency Hospital, his own company, RWE Associates and Minnesota Twins. When we worked for the Minnesota Twins he helped develop software for a electronic ticketing system at the Metrodome. This system was implemented by the L.A. Dodgers and then eventually went nationwide.
He is survived by his mother, Arlene Evans of Two Harbors, MN, his children, Angela (Jim) Mitchell of Blaine, MN and Scott (Krista) Evans of Anoka, MN. One sister, Jolene (Tim) Hurd of Two Harbors. Six grandchildren, a niece and nephews.
Robert was preceded in death by his father William Evans in 1980 and his sister Deveny Strecker in August of 2018.
Robert enjoyed his many animals over the years. He was an animal whisperer who raised a number of loving, well behaved animals. His constant companion was his cat S. Kitty, who was his best buddy and sidekick for many years. He was a MN fan and enjoyed watching the Minnesota Vikings and Twins. He was always looking for a new cooking recipe and eating great food. Freetime was spent hunting, fishing, and tinkering around with electronics. Anyone that knew Robert knew that he was always up for a chit-chat. He always had a few jokes in his back pocket to make people laugh and was happy to hear any new joke to add to the collection. He would want us to share his passion for humor with others.
A private memorial will be held in Two Harbors at a later date, where he will then be interned at the Lakeview Cemetery in Two Harbors, MN.
