Football: Ollman torches Timberwolves

Silver Bay senior Mason Ollman ran wild against Ely, rushing for 233 yards and three touchdowns in the Mariners 34-30 win over the Timberwolves on Friday, Oct. 12.

The win was Silver Bay's first over Ely since 2005, before either program had moved down to 9-man football. Silver Bay (3-4) made the move in 2006, with Ely following suit in 2011.

Ollman gave the Mariners the lead with a 20-yard scoring run in the first quarter, but Ely's Nick Mattila gave gave the Timberwolves the lead with 15- and 8-yard touchdown runs.

Silver Bay senior Peyton Westerlund helped the Mariners to a 21-14 halftime lead with a 3-yard score and a 47-yard pass touchdown pass to Tim Perfetto in the second quarter.

Nate Nettifee gave Ely the lead in the third quarter with a 5-yard touchdown run and a 2-pt conversion, but Ollman slammed the door shut on the Timberwolves with two touchdown runs, including one from 73 yards out.
